As I shared this summer when we first met, each of you brings unique talents that only you can bring to our students, families, staff, schools, and district.
Randy Nelson and his team of good-hearted volunteers and donors -- including the Cyclones of Corwin International Magnet School -- have generously provided a holiday party, complete with gifts, food and drink, fun activities and more.
In anticipation of Veterans Day, and as a precursor to tonight's 6 p.m. Pride and Patriotism ceremony at Memorial Hall, scholars at Bessemer Academy and Park View Elementary expressed their appreciation to local veterans as well as all who served.
The pre-K through fifth graders join the fight against the disease by donating a quarter or more each day of Breast Cancer Awareness Week in order to participate in the themes, which this year were “Be a Hero of Hope,” “Knock the Socks Off Cancer,” “Pair Up Against Cancer” and “Team Up Against Cancer.”
Kindergarteners focused on animals and their habitats; first graders visually created their own country; second graders engaged in a Market Day, to learn the ins-and-outs of entrepreneurship and commerce; third and fourth graders explored careers, with a rotation of guest speakers in a variety of fields visiting the school; and finally, fifth graders explored the cosmos through a unit entitled Patterns in the Universe.
